At the time of her death, Louise Comeaux Soulier was the oldest stockholder of Billeaud Companies.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at a 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, for Louise Comeaux Soulier, 94, who died on Monday, January 2, 2017 at her residence in Broussard. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Mausoleum. Reverend William Ruskoski will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Clare Billeaud and Liz Bass. Giftbearers will be Mary Ellen Romero, Elizabeth Simon, and Aimee Martin. Eulogist will be Chuck Billeaud. Altar servers will be her great grandsons, Alex Romero, Jacob Comeaux, and Andrew Simon. Survivors include her daughters, Mary S. Gilley and husband George, and Renee S. Bellow and husband Jim; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; two loving nieces, Liz Bass and Clare Billeaud; and a devoted nephew, Chuck Billeaud. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse Albert Comeaux and Mary Segura Comeaux; and her five siblings, Harold, Richard, and Martial Comeaux, Catherine C. Billeaud and Mary Alice C. Landry. Louise was educated and graduated from St. Cecilia School in Broussard and attended the University of Colorado. She was a homemaker for most of her life and also worked as a secretary at Billeaud Sugar Factory. Louise inspired others by the simple way she chose to live her life; being a faith-filled, tender, loving and caring mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. Her joys were cooking, visiting the casino, bingo and scratch offs, and most of all, spending time with her family. Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons, Steven and John Gilley, and Kenneth and Lloyd Comeaux, her great grandsons, Benjamin Romero, Adam Romero, and three grandsons-in-love, Guy Romero, Peter Simon, and Nick Martin. Honorary pallbearers are George Gilley and James Bellow, her very dear sons-in-love. The family requests that visitation be observed at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of service.
